There are many different texture change scripts that have been used for different items.

Some use a HUD, some are very simple and just work on a click and some are embedded into the AvSitter menus.

In an effort to make it easier I’m going to pool all of the instructions here so they can be found with less hassle.

-poolie- Simple Theme System

If this system has been used it can only be accessed by a seated avatar. Find your spot and sit down. Usually if I have embedded the menu like this I have it on all of the menus for each sitter whether it’s the first or last person to sit.

There should be a button on the AvSitter menu that leads to the themes available in the piece labeled something along the lines of “Textures”, I try not to make it too hard to figure out what things are.

Click through and select. Use the back button to get back to the animation menu.

IF there’s an Access button available it will be in the theme menu, you can then set who can change it whether you leave it open to the public, group or owner. By default if you do not see this option then it will be only changeable by the owner of the item.

[Black Tulip] – Theme Texture Change

These items are a little more versatile and may have the ability to be changed with a click when unseated. They also have the option through the AvSitter animation menu.

When in the menu you will see the various texture options along with an [ACCESS] menu. Through this menu the owner may reset the script and set it to be group only, owner or to all.  (see also additional notes about Black Tulip Texture change and multiple objects)

Simple Simple versions are just a click away. Click it and a menu appears.

Most items of this nature are decorative and aren’t using an animation menu. Such as tapestries and the like.

Many of these, if not all have access buttons to be able to set just who can change the script.

Group, all or owner.  I don’t know about you but there’s nothing more irritating than someone coming through and changing my stuff when I have it set just like I want it.

I’m a lil obsessive about that sort of thing so I usually try to make it so you can set that how you want.

If the piece uses the Black Tulip texture change menu system whether embedded into the AvSitter script or on its own it has an additional need for help sort of thing.

From the creator of the script:

Hi, I’m the creator of the texture change script named ‘[Black Tulip] Theme Texture Change v2’.
Despite it being a complex script, some things can’t be achieved in SL unless we help it a little.

In this case, the following situation may occur:

Suppose that you have an item separated in two (or more) objects that changes texture using this script.

For example, a swing. You may want to place more than one of these swings in your parcel/sim.

And you will find the following behaviour: When you change the texture in one of the swings, the other(s)
one(s) also change the texture. How can we fix this?

Modifying one parameter of the ‘[Black Tulip] Theme Texture Change v2 ~CFG~’ configuration
notecard in each object using the texture change script.

This means the following.

Suppose you have three swings. Edit one of the parts of the swing and check what name the creator
gave to setName (it’s after the = sign). Suppose the name is ‘[Brand] Swing’. If you check the other
part of the swing, you’ll see that there’s the same value for setName.

And the same happens in the other two swings!

So now edit another one of the swings, and change this setName = [Brand] Swing to:

setName = [Brand] Swing 1

and do the same to the other parts of the swing.

Then in the remaining swing, change setName = [Brand] Swing to:

setName = [Brand] Swing 2

in all the parts that make the full swing.

This way, you’ve given each swing a unique identifier. Now your swings will change independently.

I hope this helps enjoying your items.
