Today is Tuesday so there will be a 25L update for the week along with other miscellaneous things to tell you but right now I’m going to take you with me for a few minutes.
This morning while searching my massively unsorted and very unorganized inventory I found a folder from Fantasy Faire 2016 and I was tickled coming across some plushies that were long forgotten. There I am rezzing an adorable little purple cthulhu, and this odd green alien looking strange thing that Elicio Ember had made tucking them ever so carefully around the landing. It’s still a fun thing for me to do these things so people either think I am a little bit nuts or do a little squee of happy.
You’d be right of course, I am a little bit nuts. You have to be to do what I have done for the past 13 years but I enjoy it.
I found something else too. Something that made me pause. A momento that had been made. I remember it now after pulling it out and this sort of thing always reminds me of why I relay or why I do some of the work that I do. Why the Faire ends up meaning so much to so many people and why my store is now the way that it is. So that I can share these things, so that the shopping isn’t the only thing. A memory of when Second Life wasn’t quite the way it is now as well as a place to dream, or to heal. A small memorial.
Fashioned using the Fantasy Faire logo, a small candle and grass at it’s base it now has a home here at Roawenwood where it will remain. It was entitled, “The Spirit of the Faire”, and it has a small inscription that was left.
I’ve lost members of my family and friends to cancer so it has always been a personal journey to work for this cause, many people I know have been touched by this disease so while this is a small thing… It is given with meaning and love.
I am sending you on a quest my lovely people, to take a moment, find the memorial and reflect. I am going to sweeten it with a small token of appreciation. Near the spot is a small gift box with a piece that I made for the Pools of Ethuil. A momento from the Faire that has only ever been on sale in RFL vendors. I’m updating it to include the Chaddul Ro memorial as well. This one is very very rarely offered and never for sale.
It is a very personal piece.
If you would like a copy of them I will be leaving the quest gift up as a reward until the weekend. Come explore!
Random musing. I like this questing thing, maybe we should have more of them. Now I need ideas.
Much love to you until next we speak.
