LETTERS TO SANTA UPDATE!!!

ALL letters have been initially answered… everyone should have received their gift if they sent one. There was A LOT to go through… around 140, so here I am trying to figure out which are the very bestest so they can win a prize.

I’ll be getting prizes and notifications out to the luckiest of those who put some effort into their letters. I am so thrilled with the responses, I’ve been having a lot of fun with it so THANK YOU!!! You guys all are awesome.

Rye Bread Bowl with DipOnto the rest… well this weekend there is a 30L Saturday round for some deals. The shopping list is available in the NC I send to my group but I have two items marked down for 30L! My butter churn, and a snuggler.  The snuggler is adorable, it’s a reindeer.  I think it’s so cute but you know sometimes I can be easily amused.  If you want them then go to the landing, they are there in vendors that will stay on through tomorrow.

FREE gifts include a Firepit and a pullsled where you can walk with a bunch of presents.  Sure a lil late but it’s cute too.  BOTH items are free through tomorrow as well.

I did put a little something out there that is new… a rye bread dip thing. I don’t know how many of you have this but it is something that I have seen around me traditionally around the holidays. You scoop out the middle of a round rye bread loaf and put this dill dip inside of it.  The parts you scoop out are cut into cubes, placed around the outside.  Guests generally enjoy it at holiday parties, we have a buffet type thing we do each year for Christmas eve and generally that is one of the dishes on it.

I have it priced at 60L for now, don’t know if I’ll raise it or not but there it is!

Donuts for 25L!

Donut Platters SetToday is 25L Tuesday and I have something sweet for you.  Literally… I made donuts!

So why is it we are having donuts this week?  Well I have something of a story….

My other half and I tend to talk… a lot.  Sometimes hours on the phone just for the sake of and no real particular reason, we just do…. so we’ll be talking bout his work, my work, whatever comes up and a conversation may go something like this….

Me: I want to make something new for 25L this week, what do you think would be decent or a good idea? I’m tapped out at the moment.

Him: Donuts!

Me: Thanks I think, guess I’ll keep thinking.

This said because this is like a default response from him, at this point I’ll change the subject mulling over what the hell I feel like making or something to do.  Well this week we had one of these little exchanges so I decided to hell with it… this week we’re making donuts!

Ha! Now when I ask he’ll have to come up with a different answer, though that might be a bad thing.  One can never be certain what his mind will come up with.  Seriously…. *purses her lips thinking*

Anyhow!

Soooooo I made doughnut platters, they actually turned out looking suitably yummy.  The picture here really doesn’t do them justice, but it was late and I was done. *laughs*  The pack comes with THREE different plates filled with sugary sweetness.  Frosted, unfrosted cake type, and one of them even has some of those lil glazed doughnut holes.  I included scripted and unscripted versions.  Scripted versions will give you a donut to eat and enjoy.  Unscripted obviously don’t do anything, they’re just to look pretty.

ONLY 1 LI for each plateful.

TODAY and tomorrow I’m leaving them up in the 25L vendor.  So enjoy!  BEST part is… these don’t have any calories!

Everybody Likes Cake – A 30L Saturday Special

Sweet Tooth Cake Pack - GoldenSo I’ve been a part of 25L Tuesdays since the get go way back when and I’ve found for the most part I like having those little things around for folks to take advantage of on occasion.  In that vein I’ve decided to try my hand at a weekly event called 30L Saturdays.  It’s been around forever too and while I’ve known about it I never participated.

This week is the first week I have, I was asked to fill in at the last minute for someone who couldn’t do the weeks list so we’re going to have cake.

I’m not sure how often I’ll get on there but it’d be a nice end of the week happy weekend thing right?

So…. cake, ya…. everyone likes cake.  Something not in the store but will be after this.  Two sets technically one with a darker wood plate and one with a golden plate.  Each cake is a very yummy looking thing, four in each pack.  Blueberry, caramel, rum, and chocolate cakes.  We can’t forget chocolate.

They aren’t scripted, they’re decorative.  One prim apiece.

Today only at 30L then they will rise in price to something more ‘normal’ if there is such a thing.

Mmmmm food……

Oyster PlatterThe Multicultural Menu event ALSO opened today and while I did the post for the Kinky event I wanted this one to have its own.  I adore food, in SL and out of it.  It’s something of a weakness.  I don’t always eat a lot of it but I love the smells, texture.  I love to cook, and I simply adore feeding people.  I’m like the relative or family friend who is always trying to feed people.  Have a problem, here let me make you something…. is it good?  Wonderful!

I guess in a way it’s just another creative outlet.  If I can find a way to make it I will and I’m damned good at it.  *nods to this* So when I saw the event for the Multicultural Menu I was rather excited to stretch myself a little.  I haven’t done much food stuff in awhile.  I think a hearth makes a home, and a well stocked dinner table makes everyone feel good.  You can’t help but admire the sensuality of food, nor can you deny it.

I was given a region.  The Mediterranean.  At first I had a Turkish styled menu going, but then decided I was intimidated.  I don’t know why but I didn’t want to screw it up, this happens to me at times.  So I defaulted and did some French cuisine.  Baba au Rhum CakeI want to do more of it too!  I wasn’t able to make up all that I wanted, so I MIGHT if I get the time stagger another release or two during the event but further along.  It runs now through the 21st.  Granted, if I don’t have time then maybe I’ll work it into the store, don’t know yet.

First off…. I have a tray.  Cognac and Liqueur.  Very pretty, gives a glass so you can have a sip or two while standing around talking.

Secondly I have cake!  Scrumptious rum soaked cake to put out on display on your table.  I like how it looks, *nods nods*

Then last but not least……

Oysters.

A display of oysters settled into the tray nestled just right with condiments to tempt, tease or enjoy.  I’ve heard they’re an aphrodisiac. Cognac & Liqueur Tray*nods slightly to this too then continues* The tray also gives a single oyster that you can wear to eat.

I did find while making all of these that I really enjoyed doing it.  I wasn’t quite sure how this would go, or how it would turn out and it is easy to be kind of intimidated by working on something that you’re not accustomed to working on from the ground up.  They turned out nicely in my opinion though, something that I would have grace my table if I was going to be entertaining.

Everyone loves food and the greatest part is that here…. it doesn’t hurt us one way or another. *laughs*
